About Rachel
I taught myself Welsh over a number of years before moving to Gwynedd, where I became fluent. I reached the final of Dysgwr y Flwyddyn at the Wrexham National Eisteddfod, and was awarded Medal y Dysgwyr at Eisteddfod Môn the same year. This journey to fluency means I have a real understanding of what it takes to master the Welsh language, and know how to explain key challenges for other learners, as I experienced them myself. I have experience teaching others Welsh, as well as tutoring in a number of other subjects, so am experienced in helping others achieve their goals.

As someone who taught myself Welsh, I'm passionate about inspiring others to learn the language. I can follow the Dysgu Cymraeg curriculum, or provide speaking practice for more advanced learners - adapting sessions individually to those I teach. I teach adults at any level of Welsh, in hour-long sessions, either online or in person (nr Bangor).
