I have been an educator for 21 years, with experience as a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, curriculum specialist, academic camp director, and a teacher of musical theater, singing, and acting. I also owned and operated a tutoring and homeschool business for many years focused on personalized learning for diverse students. I am passionate about creative, joyful and exploratory learning. I get to know my students likes, dislikes, struggles and strengths, and combine them with the state standards to create a full curriculum for each student that guarantees success! I work with children ages 3-8 on subjects such as: reading, reading comprehension, writing, math, fine and gross motor skills and art. I have experience working with children with ADD/ADHD, dysgraphia and dyslexia.

Alissa is simply awesome!!! I'm blown away at how much my son has learned and now is reading on his own!!! Alissa is so much fun too. My son is always happy when he knows she's coming over. Alissa can keep an active almost seven year old BOY totally engaged and makes learning really fun and is so creative! I'm so thoroughly impressed with her and super happy with my son's progress!
Alissa is an incredible tutor. My daughter has learning difficulties and Alissa is the only tutor we have found that can work with her effectively and successfully. She is patient and understanding and allows my daughter to go at her own pace while still making the experience fun! Learning used to be very frustrating for my daughter, now she can't wait for Alissa to come over and work with her! She even plays, "Ms. Alissa" when she's not here! I highly recommend her!
