About Meg

I am Meg! I'm a former teacher and a mother of three elementary school-aged children. I received my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies for Elementary Education from Longwood University, and my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. I excel in working with high-energy students, as well as those more reserved kiddos who want to enjoy their lessons while also practicing the skills that will make them great readers! I look forward to getting to know your student and working together to help them find success.

About the lesson

As a former Kindergarten and First Grade teacher I am aware of the individual learning styles and needs to keep young learners engaged to create lasting foundational skills development. My lessons typically involve a welcome/greeting. An agenda of what we'll do today. An overview of the skills being taught. Guided Practice. Individual Practice. A game or wrap-up activity. There is also time built in throughout longer sessions for a brain break or redirection as young students tend to lose focus during long bouts of brain stimulus.
