About Amanda
Hi, I'm Mandy, I currently work in a secondary school as a technician.
I have always worked in kitchens, commercial and domestic.
I went to college at 16 to learn to become a chef, since then I have worked in restaurants as a dishwasher, breakfast chef, moved onto bar work as a supervisor, then after having my children, I worked as a mobile cook within the local councils schools.
I love baking, brownies, cookies, cakes. I dabble in Gluten Free bakes too.
I love good food that feeds the soul, think of your fake takeaways.

My techniques are nowhere near as Gordon Ramsay, but they are informative, fun and real.
The typical theory lesson length would be 40 minutes - 1 hr long, practical lessons vary.
I am qualified in professional cookery, City and Guilds NVQ 2 & 3, these consist of:
-Food safety
-Health and safety
-COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health)
- Food handling
-Allergen
I currently work in a secondary school with all abilities, there's no judgement here.
