About Thomas
Hi, I'm Thomas. I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand and have recently moved to Melbourne. I have a Master's degree in Economics, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics. I have spent three years as a practicing Economist and one year as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Auckland. I love sports, animals and meeting new people. I am passionate about mathematics, statistics and problem-solving - looking forward to the opportunity to teach the next generation!

As a tutor specializing in math and statistics, my approach blends structured instruction with an intuitive understanding of each student’s unique learning style and is suitable for high school students of all ages. My sessions are highly interactive. I use a combination of problem-solving exercises, guided examples, and past exam papers to reinforce core concepts. Most of my lessons run for 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s goals. I typically begin with a quick review of previous material, followed by targeted teaching on new content, and wrap up with guided practice and Q&A. I also provide summary notes and practice tasks to support learning between sessions. I hold degrees in economics and statistics and have a year of experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Many of my students have achieved significant improvements in their exam performance and self-confidence.
