About Lauren
My name is Lauren Reid. I am a rising junior student at Texas A&M University and am looking to help students struggling with math courses and concepts.
I am currently majoring in economics and will receive my degree in May 2022. While I have had the opportunity to take a multitude of different courses, I have focused the emphasis of my studies on math based classes. Along with having a strong interest in my math based courses, I have also made strong academic achievements over the past two years at A&M. Starting with my freshman year, I completed MATH 140 with a B average, MATH 142 with an A average, along with completing two math based economic courses with B averages. Following my first year, I completed two math based economic courses, ECON 323 and ECMT 461, with A averages. Along with my academic success in these courses, I also have taken the initiative of helping my fellow classmates with explanations over math concepts discussed in all of these courses.
Along with my strong devotion to academic success, I am also a member of the NCAA Division-I Women’s Equestrian Team at Texas A&M. While being a member of the team, I have had the opportunity to learn how to work with a diverse group of girls while being a positive and strong teammate. In addition to being a member of the Women’s Equestrian Team, I have taken on a strong leadership role on the team and have had the opportunity to participate in a seminar for emerging leaders.

As I used to struggle with math in the past, I try to make math concepts as simple as possible. I find math much easier to understand when you can visualize the work so I always try to provide accurate, simple, and neat visual aids to all students. I am also a strong believer that math concepts take time to grasp and understand so moving at whatever pace is comfortable for the student is extremely important to me.
