About Laurel

I have always been fascinated by how human decisions, markets, and policies shape the world. This passion led me to earn a Master’s degree in Economics, where I explored microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, financial systems, and policy analysis. Over 7 years, I have guided students at various levels to develop a strong understanding of economic theory and real-world application, helping them gain confidence and analytical skills.

I prioritize creating lessons that are practical, engaging, and relevant. Beginners benefit from clear explanations, examples from daily life, and interactive exercises. Intermediate learners strengthen analytical reasoning, data interpretation, and decision-making skills. Advanced students tackle complex modeling, policy evaluation, and research-based learning. I emphasize critical thinking, curiosity, and independent exploration to ensure learners can apply economics knowledge effectively.

Outside teaching, I follow global economic developments, research trends, and policy changes, integrating them into lessons to keep content relevant. Witnessing students develop confidence, analytical skills, and a clear understanding of economic systems is deeply fulfilling. My ultimate goal is to empower learners to make informed decisions, appreciate economic dynamics, and develop practical, lifelong skills that help them navigate both academic and real-world challenges with confidence.

About the lesson

Economics becomes easier to understand when students see its connection to everyday life, markets, and decision-making. My lessons cover supply and demand, market structures, fiscal and monetary policies, international trade, and economic modeling. Beginners learn basic economic principles, including simple market concepts, budgeting, and consumption behavior. Intermediate learners explore elasticity, cost analysis, economic indicators, and policy evaluation, developing analytical skills for real-world applications. Advanced learners focus on macroeconomic modeling, market simulations, research projects, and critical evaluation of economic policies.

I emphasize practical, interactive approaches, including case studies, data analysis, discussions, and problem-solving exercises. Students are encouraged to relate abstract concepts to current events, personal finance, and historical economic trends, making learning relevant and engaging. Each lesson is customized to the student’s background and learning objectives, ensuring they steadily gain analytical skills, confidence, and the ability to think critically about complex economic issues.

Economics lessons foster logical reasoning, problem-solving, and data-driven thinking. Students gain the ability to analyze market trends, evaluate policies, and make informed decisions.
