About David
I'm David, a first-year Accounting & Finance student at the London School of Economics. I achieved A* in Economics, A* in Psychology, and an A in Maths at A-Level.
Outside of my degree I work as an equity research analyst across three university investment groups and recently completed a Spring Insight Week with BlackRock's Fundamental Equities team — one of the world's largest asset managers. That means I'm not just someone who did well in the exam and moved on — I apply economic thinking to real markets and investment decisions every day, and I bring that perspective into lessons to make the subject feel relevant rather than abstract.
I tutor because I remember how much of a difference the right explanation at the right time made for me. Economics clicked for me when I stopped trying to memorise content and started understanding the logic behind it, and that's the approach I take with every student. I'm patient, reliable, and focused on results — my goal is always to get you the grade you're aiming for.

My lessons are built around one thing: getting you the grade. I achieved A* in Economics and A* in Psychology at A-Level before going on to study Accounting & Finance at LSE, so I know exactly what the mark schemes are looking for and where most students drop marks.
Each session is tailored to wherever you are right now. If you're behind, we go back to basics and build up properly. If you're already solid but want to push from an A to an A*, we focus on the evaluation and analysis techniques that examiners reward at the top end.
I come with a full set of pre-made flashcards that I personally used to get my A* — you'll get access to these from day one. They cover key definitions, diagrams, evaluation points, and common exam traps, so you've got a structured revision tool to use between sessions as well.
Lessons are typically one hour. I tutor GCSE, A-Level, and IB Economics and I'm available online or in-person across Essex. I'm happy to work around your school schedule and can adjust the pace and focus based on what you need most — whether that's content gaps, exam technique, or essay structure.
