About Charles
I am an economics student at the University of Bristol. I have always been a keen mathematics student, Having taken advanced maths after completing my GCSE in year 10, and Further Mathematics A level alongside straight Maths A level. My degree is heavily reliant on Mathematics, primarily statistics, however, also strong elements of pure mathematics, as Bristol University prides itself on a strong level of maths incorporation. I have helped family members improve their maths for exams, having grown up with three younger brothers, and am looking to help others achieve the same.

The conventional method of teaching Maths is to teach a specific subject during the lesson, and attempt a select few questions, then prompting the student to complete a larger set of relevant questions for homework. However, I believe that, in mathematics, the most important form of study is question practice. Hence, I prepare a video which explains the topic: the theory, applying the theory (or equations in some cases) and how answers should be written and laid out. In this case, the student can watch the video as many times as they like, pausing where necessary until they have understood the topic. Then, during classes, we go through questions together, ranging from easy to very difficult. During this time I will ensure that the correct layout is applied, and assist the student when they are stuck. I found this method from one of my old teachers, and I found it to be a much more efficient, engaging way of teaching, as there is nothing more tedious than struggling to complete a set of problems in maths by yourself, with no help.
