About Nour
Hello, I’m Nour,
I am currently an Economics student at the University of Nottingham, and not too long ago, I remember the challenges of GCSE Maths and Physics.
In Year 11, I was fortunate to have a Maths teacher who completely transformed my approach to achieving top grades. He didn’t just focus on teaching the curriculum but also on helping us understand why we do certain things.
By adopting this method and applying it to other subjects, I developed a systematic way of breaking down difficult questions. This boosted my confidence in exams, allowing me to improve from a grade 5 to a grade 9 in just seven months.
Physics was more of a struggle for me—I scored a grade 4 in my end-of-year 10 assessment. However, by applying the same approach, I found that relating physics lessons to real-world scenarios made the subject much easier to grasp. Additionally, creating flashcards that mirrored past exam questions and mark schemes helped me understand exactly what the questions were asking.
These techniques not only helped me excel in Maths and Physics, but they also made me enjoy the subjects, which is why I chose to study them at A-level. Using these same methods, I achieved top marks.
I would love to introduce these techniques to new students and demonstrate how effective they can be, just as I have with my previous students.
