About Oluchi
Hi, I’m Oluchi! I’m a second-year Economics student with a minor in Applied Data Science, and I’ve spent many years building strong skills in calculus, algebra, arithmetic, and trigonometry.
In high school, math didn’t always come easily to me, so trust me, I’ve been there. I know exactly what it feels like to struggle with something that’s supposed to be easy. That experience is what makes me a patient and understanding tutor. If I was able to improve and succeed, I truly believe you can too.
With the right guidance, encouragement, and practice, I’ll help you build confidence and work toward the grades you’ve always wanted. I’m reliable, supportive, and I thrive in making students feel comfortable, especially when they don’t feel confident in their abilities.
If you’re looking for someone who understands, listens, and genuinely wants to see you improve, I’d love to help.

My approach to tutoring focuses on helping students understand the why behind math rather than memorizing steps. I adjust my teaching style based on each student’s learning preferences and aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
I use a mix of step-by-step worked examples, guided practice problems, and visual aids such as diagrams and graphs to make concepts easier to understand. Throughout lessons, I provide positive reinforcement and real-time feedback to help students build confidence and stay motivated.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up reviewing previous material, followed by a clear explanation of the main concept using examples. We then spend time practicing problems together and independently, and the lesson ends with a brief wrap-up that summarizes key ideas and offers tips for homework or further practice.
What sets me apart is my personal experience struggling with math in high school, which allows me to relate to students who feel overwhelmed or unsure of themselves. As a UofT Economics student with a minor in Applied Data Science, I have strong experience with math-heavy courses and am patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in helping students improve.
My lessons are for middle school, high school, and college students, including first-year university students taking math or calculus-related courses. Whether you’re looking to catch up, strengthen your foundation, or build confidence, I tailor each lesson to your needs.

From my experience with Oluchi, I can say that she is extremely hardworking! We met in high school, and she really worked hard to understand her academics and grasp concepts. She often burnt the midnight oil studying for tests, and stayed determined. However you get the best of both worlds with Oluchi because she is creative, can think outside the box, and is just a generally wonderful person to be around. When it comes to teaching and explaining, she is extremely patient and good-natured, and she is one of the best people that I can think of to fulfill this tutor role! She is knowledgeable and will make the learning experience fun, which is an extremely important quality for a person to have. Give Oluchi a chance and you definitely will not regret it.
I really enjoyed my lessons with Oluchi. She explains concepts clearly and is very patient when I don’t understand something straight away.
Oluchi is my best friend, and beyond that, she is an exceptional tutor. When I struggled with calculus and statistics, I was paying a lot for tutoring elsewhere, yet Oluchi stepped in on her own to help me without expecting any payment. She was patient, devoted, and took the time to ensure I truly understood each topic. After every session with her, I felt more confident and knowledgeable than I had the day before. Her passion for teaching and her ability to take her students seriously truly stand out. If you’re looking for someone who is committed, patient, and genuinely invested in your success, Oluchi is definitely the right choice.
I’ve known Oluchi for almost ten years and she is the most patient, kind, attentive and hardworking person I know. She loves helping people and she always makes sure you’re comfortable. I was struggling with algebra once in high school but Oluchi explained it so easily and quickly. I still use the tips she taught me all the those year ago.
I highly recommend Oluchi and I believe she will be the perfect tutor for you.I know Oluchi through her work as a math tutor, and she is an incredibly patient, reliable, and knowledgeable teacher. She has a way of breaking down complex math concepts into simple, understandable steps, which makes learning feel much less intimidating.
I’ve known Oluchi for over six years. We grew up attending the same high school, which was very competitive in mathematics, and later took some of the same math courses in university.
What stands out most about Oluchi is her patience and the way it shows in how she interacts with people, especially in a teaching setting. She explains concepts calmly and clearly, making sure others truly understand rather than feel rushed or intimidated.
During our university math courses, Oluchi consistently demonstrated a deeper understanding of the material. She actively asked thoughtful questions, attended office hours, and put in the effort to fully grasp concepts beyond what was taught in class. This determination to learn and improve is something I truly admire. I strongly believe that a great teacher is someone who continues to learn and knows when to ask questions, and Oluchi embodies that quality.
I would confidently recommend Oluchi as a math tutor to any student looking for someone knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely committed to helping others succeed.Excellent tutor! She was super patient and understanding with me. Also, her way of explaining is superb, and I was able to finally learn concepts I had been struggling with for ages with her.
