About Ankit
Hi, I am Ankit, and I am an Economics Undergraduate at the University of Cambridge! I have completed my A-levels from King Edward VI Grammar School, obtaining 4A*’s. In Year 12, I obtained a 99% average in both my Further Maths and Economics exams, scoring the highest in the year, and in my A-Levels I obtained 95% in Economics, receiving the Economics Prize.
I have always been fascinated by Economics as it provides a rationale behind the countless decisions we make both as individuals and as a society and gives us a better understanding of how, and more importantly why, things operate in the way they do. Given its nature, the study of Economics and Maths is best approached from a strong conceptual and intuitive stance rather than memorising tons of content, and this is the approach I encourage in my students, especially for those who want to pursue it further. From personal experience, I know that this isn’t always easy, and I want to be able to help my students by teaching at a pace best suited to them, and generating an understanding built from the foundation upwards to provide long-term retention of even the hardest content.
Economics and Maths is such an integral part of everything around us, that is gives me pleasure to be able to teach this subject to others, so they too have the ability to gain a deeper understanding of it. I am very excited to have this opportunity to help students further their knowledge in order to gain success in their exams!

I attempt to tailor each lesson to cater for each student’s specific requirements through my 3 step approach. I am very flexible and am happy to take on any feedback to make relevant changes.
(1) PREP: To maximise the quality of each lesson, we will determine the key topic prior to the lesson, which allows me to set a short task ready for the start of the lesson. This will allow me to gauge the level the student is currently working at, as well as provide an opportunity for you to ask any initial questions.
(2) LESSON: My lessons are aimed at developing concepts from the foundation, and encouraging intuition in regards to complex unseen problems. Together we will work on developing a strategy to help you ace your exams! I will be working at a speed to make learning efficient and effective by providing hints and gentle nudges in the right direction and working through several examples to create a firm understanding of the topic for long-term retention.
(3) CONSOLIDATE: To track progress, I will set a question at the end of each lesson that will allow students to apply and revise the content of the lesson. I will mark each answer and provide thorough feedback. With this, students have a model answer which they can use for revision prior to their exams.
I know from experience it’s not always easy, especially with the pressure of exams. I am flexible and always available for any advice, help and short queries outside lessons!
