About Jonas
I have worked as a private tutor for the past two years, with the highest influx of students being before the May exam session (which is when I'll have 3-4 students simultaneously).
I've certainly had mixed reviews, as I am not necessarily the best to work with if the student not motivated to spend extra time on the subject, or is only motivated by a pressing need not to get a bad grade. However, even in those cases I do my best to give tips on how to make the learning more efficient so as to aim to pass with minimal effort.
In cases where the student shows some interest, I am sure that even a month or two of weekly lessons can give a ~10 % boost to the final grade.

My lessons mostly involve churning through a lot of problems to learn the mechanical techniques, combined with fruitful dialogue to ensure that the student has also understood the key concept(s).
We will work with exercises from various sources (although past papers are the material of choice when exams approach), as well as different books, so as to find the simplest way of understanding what each syllabus point really means for a given topic.
My primary goal in all of this is to convey the optimal combination of good exam technique and actual understanding of the subject, weighted by the student's own preferences/interests. My secondary goal is to capitalise on existing points of interest in order to deepen that knowledge and tie it in, if possible, with the other information.
