About Jeanmarie
I have studied and played piano and cello since age 5 and 7. My education includes undergraduate studies in Music history and music theory as well as studying both instruments. I went on to study musicology in graduate school at Stony Brook University, and Music education at The Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College. I have been teaching students privately since I was in the ninth grade and have continued to do so ever since. I teach piano, cello, violin, flute, and trombone. I also teach group lessons and classes in private schools.

My approach to teaching is very individualized. My students receive a binder, into which we will insert music and exercises tailored to that students interests, abilities and goals. Some of which I compose specifically for them personally. I add free group instruction to all my private students including music theory as well as chamber music.
