About Angela
I have 16.5 years of classroom experience. I taught kindergarten for a total of 13 years . 2 years were spent teaching first grade. I substitute taught for all grades for 1.5 years. Through this experience, I've learned that a strong foundation creates a positive ripple effect and one that is not build solidly can for sure do the opposite. Students don't just mature or grow up to become strong readers/writers. They are given tools to become that.

Literacy
After a consultation and an informal assessment, my sessions will be tailored to the individual student's need.
I will use guided reading practices to develop the student, which will allow me to scaffold and assist the student in becoming stronger, more confident and an independent reader and/or writer.
Guided Reading lessons include reading books on the students "instructional level", discussion, word work and writing. The books allow the teacher to teach students how to decode words, comprehend the text and enjoy reading in real time. The word work helps students to read high frequency words fluently and recognize letter/sound patterns. The writing component ties reading and writing together
