About Laurah
We aim to ascertain the target areas for every student, where their strengths and weaknesses lie we can build an overall plan of action. We both would describe ourselves as supportive and understanding of any student who finds a topic challenging and would target these areas through first of all starting the session with five focused questions relating to the topic to see where the student's knowledge was lacking. Ee would ould then discuss these areas with the student, including written key points and diagrams to support the student where they are struggling, focus on any issues raised from this and answer any questions they might have before running through some past exam questions with the student, and doing an overall summary of that session topic at the very end. All of our sessions would be followed up with 5 key points for the student to consider before the next session, therefore there is continued learning process between sessions.
Laurah is available all week Monday plus weekends and David is available weekends only. All of our lessons are booked in advance.
With each student, we keep track of their scores when attempting exam questions to monitor their progress, as well as how well they could answer the 5 questions at the start of the session. Once the student feels comfortable with various topics, we would also start to run through general exam technique and how to analyse a question, in order to give them the maximum potential to succeed in an exam environment.
