About Ellen
I have had over 40 years of teaching experience in urban public as well as private preparatory schools throughout the country. As a regular teacher, and learning specialist, I feel I have the experience to work with a variety of students at all levels! I am currently an adjunct professor at ABTech working with adult students. I am Orten-Gillingham trained to teach reading and written language to clients who have struggled or are struggling to learn how to read fluently. I have turned reluctant math students into successful and more confident students by making it relevant and using mathematics they have been exposed to as a springboard to new concepts. I have been giving lessons in this area for the last 8 years.

I have my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and my M.Ed in all areas of exceptional education and learning disabilities. I help students figure out how they learn best and develop learning strategies and design lessons based on their intact modalities. I believe making students see success breeds success and I also want to make learning fun and relatable. I am also passionate about keeping up with the latest research and employing the best teaching strategies in my arsenal.
