About Whitley
As an educator who has taught at various levels, I just want to cultivate a safe space for my students to learn and feel confident while doing so. I want my students to be able to take what they learn and help others too, by spreading knowledge and positivity. I want my students to be able to say “My teacher truly cares and wants the best for me; she wants me to succeed in all aspects of life.” I don’t want my students to just leave me “book smart” but also prepared for the real world.

I love to have fun while learning. My lessons will keep my students engaged. I am intentional in my lessons I teach. For instance, when reading, we will read with a purpose of unpacking text and using critical thinking skills to encourage open ended discussions. I provide my students with a secure space to present opinions and ask questions as needed without judgement.
