I had the pleasure of working with Ed at Mid-Peninsula High School, where he served as an executive coach for my students. He consistently supported students struggling with organization or course material, going above and beyond to help them succeed. Ed’s genuine care and passion allowed him to build strong relationships, making him an invaluable resource for their growth as learners.
Ed was also a dedicated team player, actively contributing to school events and helping faculty better understand student challenges. His initiatives, like organizing dyslexia and dysgraphia simulations, offered valuable insights into the student experience.
I worked with Ed Stern for several years. He is dedicated to getting students organized and is exceedingly patient. Ed developed strong relationships with the students he worked with, and it was obvious that they benefited from his experience. I knew I could always send a student to Ed and they would get back on track and that they would improve!
Ed was our daughter's executive functioning guide throughout her four years of high school. My daughter has the "dys's," that is, dyslexia, dyscalcula, dysgraphia and dyspraxia, as well as ADHD. Through his gentle humor he created a strong and lasting, nurturing relationship with her.
Ed keeps up on the latest brain science and motivational methods, and puts these to use without making my daughter feel like she was getting hit over the head with a fad (for example, the pomodoro method for studying). He always left her the agency, the choice to make decisions about what she wanted to do. He kept us, as parents, informed via a weekly email run-down, so we always knew what our daughter needed to work on, and what she accomplished.
Ed has developed a friendship with our whole family. I've seen him do this with others, as well, and as he works with your child, you're likely to have the same experience. Our family can't recommend him enough to yours.I had the pleasure of working with Ed in an independent high school for a number of years. Ed is an expert in helping students master executive function and organization. With extensive experience and a compassionate approach, he empowers learners to overcome challenges with clarity, confidence, and ease, benefiting both students and their families.
I had the privilege of working with Edward for several years at Mid-Peninsula High School. A knowledgeable and dedicated educator, Ed was a strong advocate for Universal Design for Learning (UDL), consistently integrating research-based strategies to benefit both students and colleagues. His communication was reliable, thorough, and timely, and his work always focused on empowering students—helping them build self-advocacy skills and strengthen their executive functioning.
