About Zavier
Thanks for taking the time to read my ad! I'm a philosophy and economics double major and a junior at Hamilton college, a small liberal arts college in upstate New York. In high school, I provided three years of tutoring as community service and then helped organize the schoolwide tutoring program for the National Honor Society as a senior. I've also lifeguarded for four years, which has improved my communication and supervision skills. I've scored 5s on AP Calculus AB, Calculus BC, US History, Computer Science A, Computer Science Principles, Statistics, and Macroeconomics; 4s on Microeconomics and Physics E&M; a 35 on the ACT, and a 1510 on the SAT. Currently, I have a 3.7 GPA and have been on the Dean's List for four semesters.

Hi there! I tutor math, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Trigonometry, and some Calculus, as well as Macro and Microeconomics, both AP and college-level. I have minor experience with many other high school-level subjects and APs so please feel free to ask about those as well!
I primarily tutor high school and undergraduate students and can help with homework, test prep, catching up on old material, or getting ahead on new material.
On other platforms, I've received hundreds of five-star ratings and dozens of positive reviews for my knowledge and enthusiasm. I've found that many students struggle with math and economics because they struggle to understand formulas and connect with the material, so I focus on teaching the more intuitive heart of why formulas work and explain problems in a way that relates to everyday life. I bring energy and passion to every session because, through my own educational experiences, I understand the frustration of not understanding material or panicking before a test. I truly care about helping students feel confident and succeed.
My lessons will typically involve student conversation and working together on solving practice problems. While I prefer not to lecture or simply write down notes - I find these ineffective and boring for most students - I'm happy to do those as well.
