About Diana
I've worked with students from middle school to high school to college and beyond. I have years of experience in a wide range of special needs: dyslexia, ADHD, autism, executive functioning and planning, processing disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and many types of learning disabilities. I love breaking down ideas and skills into steps, and supporting each student as they put the steps together in their own way and under their terms.
Two of my special needs students improved their SAT scores by over 400 points and both wound up in top colleges. I've helped several students learn how to organize their days and goals, and overall, I've helped dozens of students gain confidence in their writing, reading, math, and time management. My ultimate sign of success is when the student doesn't need me anymore because they've become self-sufficient and autonomous!
I'm the winner of multiple prestigious teaching awards, including the Fulbright, and am also a published education researcher and writer.

I assess your individual needs, and adjust my instruction to your own personal strengths, goals, and learning styles. I've been a special ed teacher for 15+ years & have loved helping a wide range of students with disabilities. My eventual goal is for you to become as self-sufficient as possible. I can help:
-Improve your grades in Math & English in high school & college. I also was an adjunct writing & reading professor for four years, & I'm familiar with university expectations.
-Improve your writing, whether that's academic essays or fiction or applications or anything in between. Special needs impacts so many, no matter what the academic & intellectual level or the type of writing.
-Read with understanding, & even enjoy it :-) I use many approaches, from phonics to comprehension challenges like inferencing or summarizing.
- Improve math, at any level. I've taught Algebra 1 & II & am NJ Highly Qualified. I help you wherever you are. Chances are high you're not "bad at math," but instead process it differently. I break things down into smaller chunks & use more repetition, & give you the foundations you need, so that you understand what you're doing &why. I go at your pace & in the way you personally learn.
- Assist in applications, time management, study skills, executive functioning, especially in high school and college.
- Enhance & support homeschooling.
- Improve standardized test scores like the SAT & Accuplacer. My success rate is high, especially with academic students.
Whatever your goals, I'll help you achieve them, gain the confidence you deserve, & support you in a calm, upbeat, knowledgeable way. I'm honored to be a 2022 Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Research winner (an award that goes to only 22 teachers in the nation), and a 2024 IREX Global Teacher Grant winner.

Diana/ Ms Lambert is an amazing tutor. Not only was she kind and patient with me, but explained the SAT concepts in a way that made it a lot easier for me to digest-- I was nervous about taking the SAT, but tutoring with Ms Lambert gave me a lot more confidence week after week. My score went up 450 (!) points in my time with her. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone needing SAT guidance or just a tutor for academics in general.
