About Meaghan

I started my fitness journey years ago with one goal: to lose weight. At the time, I was 50 pounds heavier and battling binge eating. Despite living with hypothyroidism, I’ve kept the weight off for over 10 years — and I’ve learned a lot along the way.

These days, I stay active with calisthenics, dance, and Pilates — focusing on movement I actually enjoy.

I place a great emphasis on accountability. Both nutrition and workout programming clients will receive several text and one video check-in throughout the week. My app allows me to see if clients are completing their workouts and what they are eating.

Online training: Online training packages include personalized programs, check-ins, meal plans and nutrition guidelines, mobility and recovery guidelines, and step-by-step demo videos. Online clients are added to my app where they can receive help with their nutrition, access their workouts, receive support, and track their progress. I help online clients stay accountable with weekly check-ins and nutrition audits via a macro tracking app.

Nutrition: Meal plans are personalized to the individual's lifestyle, goals, and preferences. Meal plans are updated weekly and come with unlimited adjustments during the monthly period.

Zoom training: I do live training and adapt the program according to the equipment you have access to. I offer 1 hour and 30 min sessions.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I developed an interest in working within the fitness industry at a young age. I was 19 years old. I had gained over 50lbs in one year. It was alarming at how I was treated so differently after the weight gain. As a millennial woman, I grew up in a time when body positivity was non-existent and eating disorders were common. I had unrealistic expectations of myself. I thought it would be possible to lose as much as fifteen pounds in two weeks. After months and months of fad diets and losing and regaining weight, I decided to take on a more sustainable approach and learn about health and fitness. It took me around seven months to lose the weight, but I have kept it off since. (ten years) My own weight loss journey inspired me to want to teach others how to do the same. Sustainable change is hard, but it's the most rewarding.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

I am passionate about health and fitness because I love to help others change their lives. It is really hard to change your lifestyle and implement changes, but it is possible and worth it. I am passionate about dispelling common myths in the fitness industry and helping others reach their goals realistically.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I believe I am a superprof because I go above and beyond to help my clients outside of sessions. Most people hire trainers for accountability. I am constantly checking in on clients to make sure they are sticking to their goals. If they have a hard time sticking to the plan, I help them come up with a different way to reach their goals. You do not have to be perfect. Just consistent.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

Yes, I definitely do. Early on in my fitness journey, I thought that I could learn everything from YouTube and social media. I did not see the point in investing money in a trainer. After a lower back injury, I decided that it was more important than ever to seek professional advice. In addition to hiring a trainer with experience and education, I filtered out the people who I watched on social media. I only took advice from people who had proven qualifications and experience. One creator that stood out to me was Jeff Cavaliere. He was my inspiration for going back to university at 27 years old to study nutrition and going for my training certification. (and most recently my certified strength and conditioning specialist certification).
Over time I hired other coaches because I got into Olympic lifting. My weightlifting coach in Winnipeg is an inspiration to me. He was really tough, but I improved immensely over a seven-month period working with him. Training with him made me a better athlete and tougher mentally. I never saw myself competing, but I did when I worked with him. He was 65 years old and an example of how you can and should be healthy regardless of age.
  • What are your keys to success?

My keys to success would be making small incremental changes every day. Small changes, consistency, and patience will get you further than instant gratification.
