About James
Hello there! My name is James, I am a full-time guitar educator from British Columbia, Canada. I am a patient, dedicated teacher that excels with beginning and intermediate students. My lessons are usually one-on-one, however I am happy to discuss setting up a group lesson with you! I focus on music fundamentals, and will provide exercises and songs to develop your sense of melody, harmony, and rhythm. I am comfortable playing by ear, reading standard notation or guitar tab, and will combine these approaches to fit your needs. I enjoy all popular styles and will provide a wide range of material from pop, rock, country, jazz, blues and folk genres. I will also ask you to suggest some songs or artists so we can learn the music that you love! Please reach out with any questions and I look forward to meeting you!

Electric guitar lessons for beginners, taught virtually in one-on-one sessions. Students will get everything they need to excel at the fundamentals on guitar. Lessons are tailored to the student and will use a combination of playing by ear, and music notation/guitar tablature, based on each student's goals. Beginner-friendly material designed to inspire and make learning guitar enjoyable.
