Having earned my Bachelor of Music in Popular Music from the Université de Montréal, I approach the fretboard with a mix of academic theory and street smarts. I have guided 293 students through the nuances of guitar playing over my 13 years of teaching, which makes me quite comfortable with diverse learning styles. Explaining music theory or the intricacies of lead guitar is just part of the job, and I really enjoy when a student suddenly connects those abstract concepts to their favorite power chords.
My own start in the scene involved playing folk music in Marseille, so I appreciate how essential acoustic technique is even for those who prefer loud gear. Maintenance and tuning are just as vital as playing fast scales and modes. It is truly satisfying to see how students handle their instruments with more care after we discuss the technical side of the craft.
