About Brandon
I am a graduating student in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, pending in my award level until June. Each year I have been awarded distinction with a course average above 70%. I am now moving on to pursue an engineering doctorate with applied photonics.
I have been peer supporting students since high school and tutoring for the majority of my time at university. I really enjoy teaching and distilling topics of any complexity to the appropriate and understandable level, and most of all I take great satisfaction in helping students craft their own way of learning and realise topics and solve problems for themselves, therefore helping them restore confidence in a topic and gain more motivation.

I have 3 years of experience in tutoring both maths and physics, where I have developed tools and techniques for in person and online tuition, focusing on tailoring teaching directly to student needs, and helping students to best understand how to focus their work to obtain the results they want.
I primarily teach students either about to enter exam level teaching or in the midst of a GCSE/Nat5 - A(S)/Adv Higher class, but I have experience and flexibility to teach all ages and levels, and I am looking to expand my tuition to support Year 1 and 2 undergraduate students.
I have experience as a STEM ambassador and outreach coordinator, delivering workshops in schools, and take a widespread dynamic approach to teaching as I would in these workshops, helping students to understand where the theory meets the real world, and cementing ways in which students can gain an in depth understanding of topics and as such have better recall, knowledge and understanding for exams and assessments.
