→ As briefly touched on in the relationship section above, I've known Andrew for the last 5 years, since Freshman year of college (2011) at UMass Dartmouth (UMD). For the 4 years that we were classmates there, we were lab partners for all of the classes that had them, and we also collaborated on a number of assigned group projects for other courses as well. Needless to say, I think that I am fairly well-equipped to comment on some of Andrew's beneficial traits.
→ List of reasons I'd recommend Andrew as a tutor / teacher:
---- (1.) Personally, I think the best measure of an individual's intelligence is how quickly / easily they are able to pick up on and understand new concepts / ideas. Using that measure, Andrew is easily one of the most intelligent people I had the pleasure of meeting at UMass.
---- (2.) He is sociable, and his communication skills are well-above average. While attending UMD, if there was something he understood that I didn't, he readily assessed which gaps of understanding needed to be filled, before being able to communicate the idea in language that I would understand.
---- (3.) I believe Andrew is motivated by the prospect of a challenge, rather than frightened by it. I envision a situation where, if Andrew ever comes across a tutoring-request for a topic that he doesn't have a full understanding of, he will waste no time in getting up to speed on said topic before addressing it with the tutee (i.e. the person being tutored -- I just learned that word existed today, how exciting is that!)
---- (4.) He is trustworthy. In divvying up the workload during any group assignment that we worked on together, if Andrew said that he could perform a task, he would complete that task by its deadline without fail.
→ With this recommendation, I hope that I've removed any potential doubt that you might have had in going to Andrew as your SuperProf tutor / teacher. (Happy learning!)View more recommendations
