About Destinee
I work with multiple learning abilities and disabilities daily to ensure maximum results from students. I have created lesson plans during emergency subbing. I have also executed these plans to both large groups and one-on-one instruction. I take time while teaching lessons to students and never move on without ensuring the student understands the material presented. I celebrate all progress made towards goals with students, as well as instilling self-confidence to keep their learning a positive experience.

All students learn in different ways and at different paces, I help students to build confidence while developing the academic and humane skills they need as they continue to be closer to their adult years. I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in both Elementary Education and K-12 Special Education, while having been a paraprofessional/teacher's aide for the last four years! My teaching styles include the use of student engagement whenever possible. I believe the best way for anyone to learn is to be connected to what is in front of them. Another teaching strategy I’ve found works well is personalizing lessons (when able) to match students' likes and interests. I use asking questions and making mistakes as tools rather than as a negative, which is why I am the perfect fit to help your child(ren) grow into the most successful version of their academic selves they can be!
