About Miranda
Hello! My name is Miranda, and I am a wife, mother, and aspiring elementary school teacher with a genuine passion for helping children learn and succeed!
I am currently completing my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education at Western Governors University (WGU). After years of hard work, dedication, and balancing my education with family and professional responsibilities, I am excited to be approaching the final chapter of my degree program: student teaching!
Before pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher, I spent several years working in an administrative role, where I developed strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Although I have enjoyed my professional career, my heart has always been drawn toward education and making a meaningful difference in children's lives.
Being a mother has also shaped the way I view education. I understand that every child is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, personality, and potential. I believe children need more than academic instruction; they need encouragement, patience, understanding, and someone who genuinely believes in them.
I consider myself compassionate, dependable, hardworking, and dedicated to everything I do. I enjoy building meaningful connections with others and finding ways to make a positive impact.
Becoming an educator is more than a career change for me. It is the fulfillment of a dream and an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children.
I look forward to getting to know your family and helping your child grow in confidence, knowledge, and a love for learning!

My tutoring approach focuses on creating a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student feels comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing academically. I believe every child learns differently, and I strive to adapt my teaching methods to meet each student's individual needs, strengths, and learning style.
I specialize in helping elementary students in kindergarten through fifth grade strengthen their skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. With my educational background in elementary and special education, along with hands-on classroom experience, I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, differentiated instruction, and building students' confidence.
**My Teaching Methods:**
I use a variety of instructional strategies, including visual aids, hands-on activities, guided practice, real-world examples, and positive reinforcement. I break challenging concepts into smaller, manageable steps to help students develop a stronger understanding of the material.
**What a Typical Lesson Looks Like:**
Each session begins with a brief review of previously learned skills and an assessment of the student's current understanding. From there, I introduce or reinforce a specific skill through direct instruction, modeling, and guided practice. Students then have opportunities to practice independently while receiving constructive feedback and encouragement. I conclude each lesson by reviewing progress and identifying areas for continued growth.
**What Sets Me Apart:**
My background in both general and special education allows me to support students with a wide range of academic abilities and learning needs. I am passionate about helping children recognize their potential, overcome academic challenges, and celebrate their accomplishments. I believe learning should be meaningful, engaging, and tailored to each individual child.
**Who My Lessons Are For:**
I offer tutoring for kindergarten through fifth-grade students who need additional academic support, homework assistance, skill reinforcement, or enrichment in reading, writing, and mathematics. I also welcome students with disabilities and diverse learning needs who benefit from individualized instruction and additional encouragement.
My ultimate goal is not simply to help students complete assignments, but to help them develop the knowledge, confidence, and independence they need to become successful lifelong learners.
