About Ashley
I am a dedicated and reliable elementary education student teacher with hands-on classroom experience working with young learners. I take my role as an educator seriously and strive to create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for every student I work with. Families can feel confident knowing that I approach tutoring with professionalism, preparation, and care.
I understand the importance of clear communication, consistency, and trust when supporting students academically. I come to each session prepared, organized, and focused on the individual needs of the learner. I follow structured lesson plans while remaining flexible so I can adjust instruction as needed to help students succeed.
As a future elementary teacher, I am committed to using research-based teaching strategies and developmentally appropriate practices. I value patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement, and I work to build strong academic foundations while also boosting student confidence. My goal is not only to help students improve their skills, but also to help them feel capable and motivated as learners.

My approach as a tutor is supportive, structured, and student centered. As an elementary education student teacher, I focus on meeting students where they are while helping them build confidence and independence in their learning. I use clear explanations, modeling, guided practice, and positive reinforcement to help students understand concepts rather than just memorize answers. I believe learning should feel safe, encouraging, and engaging.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check in to see what the student already knows and what they are working on in class. I then explain the skill using simple language and examples, followed by guided practice where we work through problems or activities together. As the lesson continues, I gradually release responsibility so the student can practice independently while I provide feedback and support. I always end lessons by reviewing what was learned and celebrating progress.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my background in elementary education and current classroom experience. I understand curriculum standards, child development, and effective instructional strategies, and I am patient and flexible in my teaching. I also know how to break down skills into manageable steps and adjust instruction to fit different learning needs.
My lessons are designed for elementary students in kindergarten through fifth grade, especially those who need extra support in reading, literacy, and math. I work well with students who benefit from encouragement, clear structure, and repeated practice. I am committed to helping students grow both academically and in their confidence as learners.
