About Kaylee

Hi! I’m an enthusiastic and dedicated educator entering my final year in an elementary education program. I have a strong passion for helping students grow academically and build confidence, especially in math. My experience includes working in elementary classrooms in a variety of settings—small groups, intervention programs, and whole-class instruction—allowing me to meet students where they are and support their individual learning needs.

I’ve also had the opportunity to teach students both in the United States and in Costa Rica, which has strengthened my ability to connect with diverse learners. I am currently working toward my TEFL certification to further expand my skills in supporting English learners.

Outside of teaching, I coach track and love staying active and outdoors. In my free time, I enjoy reading, painting, hiking, traveling, and rollerblading. I truly love working with children and strive to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel capable, supported, and excited to learn.

About the lesson

Lessons are personalized, engaging, and focused on building strong foundational math skills. Each session begins with a quick check-in or review to assess understanding and identify any areas that need extra support. From there, lessons are structured with clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and opportunities for guided and independent practice.

Students can expect interactive activities, games, and visuals to help make concepts easier to understand and more enjoyable. Real-life examples are often incorporated to show how math connects to everyday situations.

Throughout the lesson, encouragement and immediate feedback are provided to build confidence and keep students on track. Instruction is adjusted based on each student’s learning style and pace, creating a comfortable environment where they feel supported, can ask questions freely, and take risks in their learning.

The overall goal of each session is to strengthen skills, improve understanding, and help students feel more confident and successful in math.
