About Stephanie

I was a public-school teacher for 25 years and was recruited to teach at a private school because of my experience and expertise. I value each student's uniqueness and find what motivates them to learn and try their best. I specialize in elementary education and in all ability levels.

About the lesson

First, I would explain to the students what topic we are covering and give them a mini lesson on how to complete the steps to solve the problem. Then I would explain different techniques to solve and ask what method they think they understood the best. We would practice some problems and I would check for understanding. They would then independently show their work and I would check for understanding.
Repetition and encouragement with a personal touch set me apart from other tutors, I have been successful with many elementary aged students with building connections.
