About Karlin
As an engineering student myself, I understand the hardships of trying to learn something new and difficult, (I do it quite often). I know it is not always smooth sailing and because of that getting help should always be embraced. As a paraprofessional at the elementary and middle school level, I understand the importance of a student being comfortable enough to express being confused or stuck. It is not only my job to help one with problems but to create an environment where the student can be themselves. I will always be honest and transparent with everyone and will always do my best to help someone learn and hopefully make it as enjoyable as possible!

These tutor sessions are intended for elementary and middle school students who have difficulty in their math classes and have problems to bring to meetings. (Homework problems, old quizzes, etc.) From there I can create more problems to help the student get comfortable with the material. Although I specialize in elementary and middle school math, I can also do algebra 2, pre-calculus, and calculus 1.
A typical tutor session involves first talking about your day or week. I want to get to know the student as a person first before helping them with math. This helps create a more casual environment that is not forced. Then we will go into reviewing homework or quiz problems the student may have trouble with. Finally I will help think of problems similar to the review material to do!

Details
This is for online sessions only, the first 30 minutes of the first lesson will be for free as getting to know the student takes a little bit longer and as courtesy for trusting me!
Tutoring times are set for one hour, although typically meeting will last about 65 to 70 minutes. This is due to working out technical issues as well as just talking about the students day or week. The extra five to ten minutes is not reflected in the hourly rate.
