About Christina
I am a reading intervention teacher in Kansas City. I have over 13 years of experience in elementary education, with the last 6 focused specifically on literacy intervention. I also taught a graduate level course in literacy intervention teaching methods for two years.
In addition to my Master's degree, I have completed literacy instruction courses through Neuhaus Education Center (multisensory reading instruction for students with language processing disorders), and LTRS, a two year literacy training course through Lexia.

My literacy lessons will be tailored to the needs of the individual student, but generally encompass each literacy domain: phonemic awareness exercises, phonics concepts & decoding practice, sight word fluency, and ends with sentence construction & guided spelling. Lessons last about 45 minutes of direct instruction and 15 minutes for the pupil to practice reading with a decodable text. My lessons can be taught one on one or with a small group of similarly skilled students. 1-1 sessions are $45/hr and small group (2-3 students) are $30/hr per student.

My rates are flexible based on number of students in a group. If you would like to pair your child with small group, there is a $15/hr discount per student. All materials for the lesson will be provided.
