About Rebecca

Tutoring is a wonderful way to build confidence and fine tune any content, or skills that need extra attention. Lessons will be purposeful and direct. I enjoy keeping content fun and engaging for my students. My online classes will run at the appropriate pace for students, and I will continually seek feedback to make sure students understand all instruction, expectations, and content presented. Sessions will always be kind, but professional. Questions, especially ones for clarification are always welcome.

About the lesson

Thank you for your interest. I have worked with special needs students in the elementary school setting for over 23 years. I’m also a special needs parent of a beautiful little girl with Down Syndrome. I earned my masters degree in education from Cumberland University in 2014. I have experience with severe and profound (CDC), intervention, resource, inclusion, and specific learning disabilities in reading and math. I’d love to work on individualized goals with students to keep developing skills consistent, and aid parents and teachers with closing any learning gaps. Depending on the student’s individual needs and IEP goals, I’d like to focus their learning time as 30 minutes of reading intervention, and 30 minutes of math intervention. Lessons could focus on letter/number recognition all the way to reading fluency/word problems.
