About Mary
I was an elementary teacher for 35 years. It was a challenging job, but I loved every minute. My students were always the reason I got up in the morning. Together we learned so much. My best memories are of the times I saw a student succeed after struggling with a skill or come up with the answer to a tough question or when we shared a laugh together. Today, when I am asked what I miss about teaching I always say, "The kids."

I customize methods and strategies to meet the learning needs of each student. After an inventory to see where the student is at, an individual tutoring plan will be created. This plan will include goals and periodic assessments to check for mastery. A typical lesson begins with a review of the concept taught previously and an introduction of the new concept. Next, the student will participate in activities that teach the concept. These can include the use of manipulatives, games and technology.
I am an expert in students in grades 1-8.
