About Priscille

Michel's musical journey began at the tender age of four, under the guidance of the esteemed Juilliard alumnus and founder of the Walenstein Music Organization, Romel Joseph. Immersed in a world of concerts and music competitions from an early age, her passion for classical music took root. At the age of eight, she embarked on piano lessons, starting with the talented John Arguello, and continued her education with distinguished instructors like Getty Goodwin, Nona Topolinsky, Cassandra Hanna, and Adelina.

Fueled by her dedication, Michel expanded her repertoire to include the viola at thirteen, studying under the tutelage of Roseline Lang. Her exceptional skills led to her being chosen as the first violist for the prestigious South Florida Youth Symphony (SFYS). Recognizing her talent, Richard Fleishman offered guidance and mentorship when she gained admission to the renowned New World School of the Arts for its esteemed music program. Additionally, she flourished under the mentorship of Viera Borisova.

Throughout her college years, Michel eagerly shared her knowledge and passion for music. She not only taught the beginning string program for the South Florida Youth Symphony but also contributed her expertise to the Miami Music Project. Meanwhile, she maintained her own private studio, offering lessons in violin, viola, and piano.

Driven by her love for orchestral education, Michel conceived the Hope String Orchestra, providing students with invaluable orchestral experience. She also directed the Easy Listening Orchestra, enabling aspiring musicians to refine their skills in a supportive environment. Notably, Michel organized the Anointed Easter Music Competition and Recital, offering intermediate and advanced students an opportunity to showcase their talents and experience the thrill of music competitions.

As a soloist, Michel has graced stages across Europe, Alaska, and the Caribbean, captivating audiences with her exceptional performances. Currently based in the vibrant music scenes of Indianapolis and South Florida, she actively freelances as a sought-after artist. Michel proudly participates in renowned music festivals, including the Gateways Music Festival and the Colour of Music Festival.

Michel's academic journey has been equally illustrious. She received training from esteemed institutions such as the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying under the esteemed Stephen Wyrczynski. Further honing her craft, she pursued studies at Florida Atlantic University under the guidance of Dr. Diane Wiesberg, and later at Florida International University with Michael Klotz. Currently, Michel is on the cusp of completing her degree at Temple University, where she is fortunate to study under the tutelage of Kerri Ryan, a distinguished member of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

In addition to her pursuits as a performer, Michel actively contributes to the music community. She serves as a teaching artist for the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, Vibe Music Academy, and Butler University's Community Arts School in Indianapolis, sharing her expertise and nurturing the next generation of musicians. Upon her return to her hometown of Miami, Florida, Michel is actively freelancing with ensembles such as New Canon Chamber Collective and South Florida Symphony, and teaching.
