About Dax
I am a flute tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, having successfully taught over 150 students of all levels. My teaching philosophy emphasises combining technical skills with creativity and expression. I guide students in developing breath control, tone, finger agility, and rhythm while encouraging improvisation and musical interpretation.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s objectives and learning style, ensuring progress is steady and enjoyable. I also integrate sight-reading, music theory, and performance preparation, giving students a comprehensive musical foundation. My mission is to inspire students to play with confidence, skill, and passion.

I teach flute using a methodology that focuses on adaptability, collaboration, and encouragement. Each student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to their learning style, pace, and goals. This ensures lessons are effective, motivating, and enjoyable while building both technical and expressive skills.
Flexibility allows me to modify exercises, repertoire, and practice routines based on student progress and interests. Collaboration is central to my approach; students participate in duets, ensemble sessions, and group exercises to strengthen musical communication, confidence, and timing. Positivity is a core principle, fostering a supportive environment where students feel empowered to explore, experiment, and celebrate achievements.
In addition to flute lessons, I include music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This holistic methodology develops technical mastery, expressive skill, and musical understanding, helping students grow into confident, versatile, and passionate musicians.
