About Julien

I am a dedicated saxophone tutor with over 8 years of experience teaching college students. I strongly believe that music learning should be enjoyable, structured, and confidence-building. My teaching style focuses on helping students understand the basics clearly while slowly developing advanced skills at a comfortable pace. I carefully listen to each student’s goals and design lessons that suit their learning style and musical interests.

My lessons focus on tone quality, breath control, finger technique, rhythm accuracy, articulation, and musical expression. I ensure that students develop strong fundamentals before moving into complex pieces. Improvisation is introduced step by step so students gain confidence and creativity without feeling overwhelmed.

I regularly use real-life music examples from different styles to explain concepts in a practical way. To make learning modern and effective, I use recording feedback, play-along tracks, and structured practice routines. These tools help students clearly hear their progress and understand areas for improvement.

Along with saxophone performance, I teach music theory, ear training, and sight-reading so students grow into complete musicians. My lessons are supportive, patient, and motivating, helping students enjoy music while improving steadily.

About the lesson

My Saxophone teaching style combines structured learning, creativity, and mentorship. I believe music education should be enjoyable but disciplined. Lessons focus on developing proper breathing, tone control, embouchure stability, finger coordination, articulation, rhythm accuracy, and music reading in a clear and organised way.

Creativity is encouraged through sound exploration, improvisation practice, and learning songs that match the student’s interests. I guide students as a mentor, helping them overcome challenges and develop confidence. I also help students build healthy practice habits and a positive attitude towards learning.

Critical thinking is developed by teaching students how to understand rhythm patterns, scales, and musical structure. Accountability is maintained through structured practice plans, regular assessments, and progress discussions. Along with Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Sight Reading, Rhythm Training, and Ear Development to support musical growth.
