About Bavin

Hey, this is Bavin from a village located at the southernmost tip of India. I love learning about how our mind works and how communication brings connection between people. Then how the same communication can bring misunderstanding and problems in relationships, workspaces, etc., when we have interpretive instability and miscommunication. Generally, I talk with people around the world via Tandem and similar apps to understand and learn about people's lifestyles, behavioral patterns, foods, experiences, etc., around the world.

About the lesson

While talking with people around the world, I help them remove the friction from their communication and help them with interpretation. I have been doing this for the past 4 years.

In our normal interactions, we often miss small pieces of information. To help us understand, our brain biologically generates that missing information to fill the gaps. The problem is that the generated information is usually not from the actual interaction. So when we conclude our understanding is correct and we communicate with the information that is not from actual interaction, then misunderstanding and miscommunication happens.

So we will use a scientific framework in our session called the Empathic Logic Model (you can Google to know more about it as well). This framework helps us to reduce misinterpretation and miscommunication.

Instead of relying on automatically generated information, we will use this framework. Let me break down what we do in a simple way:

1 ) We will practice how to separate the initial stage of interaction (Event) and the final interpretation (Clear Understanding).

2) We will practice how to separate the Event into What - Internal State (Empathy) and Why - Context (Logic) variables. Then the three types of "What". So that we understand the interaction clearly, and if the "Why" variable is missing, then in the next step, we will practice how to get the missing information to understand the interaction further.

3 ) We practice how to choose the right Mode according to the situation and surroundings from three Modes (Contextual Expression, Contextual Exploration, and Recursive Proportional Alignment) and then the Stabilization and the Interruption Handler.

4) Then we will practice how to use these modes and their conditions.

5 ) Then we will practice how to form the sentence to communicate using each Mode's Compact Operational Pattern (Sentence Patterns).

6) Then we will practice how to get the missing information with these modes and how to test the received missing information to make sure whether our understanding is correct or not using the Contextual Sufficiency Criterion. Then how to finish the interaction after clear understanding.

Just the terminology can sound complex, but the method is very similar to English Grammar and Sentence Patterns. Mainly we will learn in a practical way - we don't learn theory here. So you can bring any situation from your work or life or anything. So that you can practice the Empathic Logic Model with something you're already familiar with. This helps you with understanding things easily.

And then you can always text me first as I said in the video, then we can discuss your goals and areas of improvement. So we will have a clear understanding, and then you can book a session.
