About Sophia
I have been tutoring for several years and have truly enjoyed getting to help a variety of students, some of whom are similar to me in that they feel very intimidated by their first stats class as I felt in undergrad. I am so excited to help you overcome this and find that you can truly excel at stats!

I approach teaching from an empathetic and patient lens, especially as a clinical psychologist in training. I am a current clinical psych and neuroscience PhD student studying biomarkers of dementia. I used to be extremely intimidated by statistics and initially struggled greatly. I enjoy teaching statistics in a digestible and even fun way! I think it's important to understand stats from a critical perspective with an ability to translate stats into meaningful findings that can be discussed in layman's terms.
A typical lesson plan will be me assisting with homework problems, providing practice problems for exam prep, and exam review.
I tutor AP Statistics, any college level behavioral stats class, and some graduate level stats classes as well. I am proficient in SPSS and JMP programming.
