About Mohini

Hi! I’m Mohini, a premed student at UC Berkeley from Orange County. I love being active and rarely find myself at home because I love keeping myself busy—I enjoy playing tennis, watching sunsets, or experimenting with new recipes and spending time with friends. As a dedicated and motivated student, I believe the key to academic success is finding a balance between hard work and personal well-being. Right now, I’m studying for the MCAT, and very excited to connect with new students and help them achieve their academic goals. I’m friendly, approachable, and always ready to share my knowledge and support others in their learning journey!

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive, student-centered environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and exploring material at their own pace. My teaching approach is rooted in understanding each student’s unique learning style—whether they’re a visual learner, prefer hands-on examples, or need detailed explanations. I use a variety of techniques, such as active recall, spaced repetition, and concept mapping, to ensure students fully grasp complex topics and can retain information long-term.

A typical lesson plan begins with reviewing any homework or concepts the student struggled with in the previous session. I then introduce new material, breaking it down into manageable chunks and using real-world examples to make abstract ideas more relatable. I encourage active participation through problem-solving exercises, discussions, and concept-checking questions. We end each session with a quick summary and set goals for the next lesson.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to balance patience with motivation. I’m dedicated to building students’ confidence and helping them develop strong study habits that go beyond just memorizing content. I also strive to make lessons engaging by connecting subjects to students' personal interests, making learning feel more relevant.

I primarily work with middle school and high school students. My expertise covers subjects like biology, chemistry, psychology, and English, with a focus on both foundational knowledge and exam prep!
