About Juanita
I am a Colombian clean energy lawyer in recovery. I received a Master's in Environmental Law and Policy from Stanford University in 2022, and was awarded a full scholarship as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar for the 2021 cohort. I am also the co-founder of coMpower, a non-profit that ignites authentic leadership styles and collaboration for young women to become decision-makers in the Colombian energy transition.
I am based in NYCS, transitioning to writing and entrepreneurial work, focusing on how the intersections between inner healing, human connection, indigenous wisdom, and nature are the key to changing the relationship with ourselves, others, and the planet.
I love teaching my language and meeting inspiring people interested in learning and practicing Spanish to do business and have corporate conversations.

My approach as a tutor is:
-My teaching method is a direct one, where we focus on developing oral proficiency. The techniques I use include conversation and demonstration.
- A typical lesson plan includes conversations around reading/ listening assignments and prompts TBD during class.
-My added value as a tutor is my experience in the corporate in the corporate world working both in Spanish and English and providing students with technical language so that they excel in the business world.
-I teach individual lessons or group lessons for students with a minimum level of 1 – Elementary Proficiency.
- The content of the classes and lesson plan will be suited to the student's specific interests and needs.
