About the lesson

My teaching methods combine a variety of strategies and philosophies. I believe that in so many cases we tend to "throw the baby out with the bath water" when it comes to new educational pedagogy. I have found that there needs to be a good balance of "old school" methods and newer "high order thinking". We need to learn to walk before we can run and math is no different. A sound understanding of the basics will lead to automaticity in math facts and as a result will allow students to navigate more difficult questions with greater ease.
