About Belen

Teaching guitar over seven years has given me the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students from schools and colleges, each with their own musical goals and learning styles. I believe that guitar learning is most effective when it is personalized and connected to what inspires each student. My approach combines a thorough grounding in essential techniques—such as proper hand positioning, chord transitions, rhythm, and timing—with creative exercises including improvisation, songwriting, and exploring different genres. I introduce music theory in a practical way that helps students understand the “why” behind the music and develop greater musicality. Using songs and styles that students are passionate about helps maintain motivation and makes practice enjoyable. One memorable experience was mentoring students who formed a band and performed at local events, helping them gain confidence, stage presence, and collaborative skills. Beyond teaching guitar technique, I emphasize patience, discipline, focus, and emotional expression, encouraging students to see music as a lifelong journey of growth and self-discovery. I strive to create a warm, patient, and inspiring learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and developing their unique voice.

Motivation is essential, so I set achievable goals and celebrate every bit of progress to keep you encouraged.

When difficulties come up, I help you understand the underlying causes and develop problem-solving skills so you can tackle challenges confidently. I teach with honesty, patience, and respect, giving clear feedback in a supportive environment.

I tailor lessons to your learning preferences, whether you enjoy playing by ear, reading music, or exploring theory. Beyond technique, I also offer lessons in improvisation, songwriting, and performance to help you grow as a complete musician. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to support your musical journey with care and enthusiasm.
