Each student has a preferred method to get to the same answer. My technique is to find this method and use it to each student's advantage. Not everyone approaches problems in the same manner and it is important that each student is tended to accordingly. My lesson times are 30 minutes or 60 minutes and I recommend having one per week so we can track the progress. I teach students in KS3+KS4, usually getting students ready for GCSEs. During my PGCE study I focused on the self-regulation; this is students understanding their own mind and being able to progress by themselves.
