About Joshua
Hi! My name is Josh. I have worked as an engineer, but if you can believe it, I once went through secondary and high school like you. Going through assessments, particularly at school, along with the associated stresses and expectations, can be tough. I'm here to guide and assist you in the subjects that some may find quite challenging, and not to be your drill sergeant. I enjoy hearing about the successes of my former students who go on to university or pursue a career they're excited about, whether it's local or overseas, as that brings me deep joy. I'm looking forward to working with you to achieve your goals. Cheers, Josh

#Methodology: 1. Set the student's goals. 2. Assess how far the student is currently from the goal. 3. Slice and define subgoals for each session, specifying the number of sessions and the preferred length of each session (default is 50 minutes, plus 10 minutes for multiple blocks). #Session breakdown: 1. Intro: - greet, rapport, then recap - set expectations of this lesson 2. Middle: either - intro new material, or - work on weak areas/assignment, or - guided practice for exams 3. Closing: - recap with summary, using Feynman's technique for comprehension - reflect on session & feedback - goalset for next #Qualifications: 1. OP1 student from GPS school (2013). OP1 translates to at worst 98.85 ATAR back in 2019, but it is not a direct conversion, as they are two different statistical models. 2. Tutored previous students at a high school level, one of whom received an OP2. 3. Tutored Engineering students at university level (ENGG4900) 4. Professional engineer for 5 years #Target audience: 1. Parents who want their children to get into selective schools in high school 2. Parents who believe their child needs more 1-on-1 attention that the classroom cannot provide to unlock their child's abilities 3. Parents whose child is interested in the engineering pathway after high school and needs direction in that area/wants to get ahead. Don't hesitate to contact me for a no-obligation, free consultation at (+61) (concealed information) I'm mainly free weekday nights.

I know him through the professional world and am aware that he has been tutoring my family friend’s son. He is well-organised, tailoring a personalised syllabus for each student. His natural teaching ability and structured, building-block approach make complex concepts easier to grasp. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a dedicated and effective tutor.
Joshua supported me through the tail-end of my maths at university. He would lead me to truely understand the problem, "the why" as he called it, and then walk me through the solution - "the what." Because of his awesome knowledge and approachable teaching style, I was fully prepared for all problem sets and exams. Thanks Josh.
