I believe in building a strong foundation. With a good knowledge of basics student can tackle complex problems himself/ herself.
I teach from good books that are having a good language and after introducing students with every aspect of the topic i show them some problems and solve them and then I let them solve some other problems.
I let them tackle their doubts for some time discuss with them about the approach. If the doubt is still there I give them solution and explain it to them
