About Mahmoud
Hi, I'm Mahmoud – a Machine Learning Engineer with 5+ years of Python experience and published research (an arXiv preprint on efficient hate speech detection using LoRA-tuned BERT). I work on real NLP, time series, and MLOps projects daily. My teaching combines academic depth with practical engineering: you'll learn core theory (loss functions, gradient descent, bias-variance) plus hands-on pipelines. I don't just show you model.fit() – I teach you to think critically, track experiments, and build reproducible systems. My teaching method
I teach AI/DS through real projects & end‑to‑end pipelines – not just pre‑built notebooks. Theory is essential, so I teach the core concepts you actually need (no pointless formula‑memorization).
You'll learn:
- Data cleaning → training → evaluation → experiment tracking
- Intuition first, code second – but the math is there when it matters
- Deep dives on request – want to derive backprop, dissect attention, or compare statistical learning theories? Just ask.
Typical lesson (90 min)
Review – previous work & debugging (10 min)
Concept – e.g., overfitting with real graphs + the theory behind it (20 min)
Code together – implement from scratch (25 min)
You drive – apply to new dataset (25 min)
Wrap – recap + capstone step (10 min)
