About Aly
I taught three different students during my engineering studies. It was a very exciting experience and that is why I want to renew it. The first student, in 7th grade, was gifted but had focus issues. My only achievement was to get him to learn how to avoid easy mistakes which allowed him to go from an average around 14 in math to an average around 17-18 all in a year. My other student, in 9th gradd, succeeded in obtaining her brevet des colleges with honors in math (13 in maths) whereas initially she had many difficulties. My third student managed to pass in 11th grade, scientific branch, through the courses of maths and physics whereas she wished initially to go in the humanities branch because she felt she could not have the talent to go in science. That was my greatest achievement.

Currently a nuclear physics engineer, I am passionate about physics and science in general. I want to share my knowledge. I went through preparatory classes in Paris which enabled me to acquire effective working methods. I am also bilingual in English. My approach in terms of teaching is to focus on curiosity: any concept can be assimilated if the student is curious enough. Curiosity is the key to success. One does not feel the efforts they have to make in order to study and remains motivated. The role of the teacher is therefore to communicate their passion in order to sparkle curiosity: to understand rather than to learn. This requires concrete examples of applications from the scientific and engineering field. This makes it possible to minimize the amount of information that the student has to learn by heart (there is still some, otherwise it would be too easy ;p). Knowledge is thus kept for a longer tome. Again, these are efforts that are avoided in order to keep motivation while consolidating knowledge for the medium and long term. Once the concepts are assimilated, application exercises, then problems are used to test the level of understanding of the student.
