About Callum
I am passionate about all things STEM, but especially in the fields of maths and statistics. Maths is the underlying field behind all of the natural sciences like physics and chemistry, and is also being used more and more in modern fields such as computer science. Statistics is also an incredibly diverse field, with application that range from statistical significance testing in biology, to model building and validation for machine learning and even understanding how black holes behave! It is this passion for maths and statistics that I wish to share with students. I believe many students are disillusioned by maths and statistics, as they have not been taught the diverse applications which they are used for, but I hope to teach students that maths is not only useful, but exciting too!

I take a more practical approach to teaching, by teaching fundamental concepts using tangible examples and practice questions. I also believe in intrinsically understanding mathematical concepts as opposed to rote-learning how to solve particular types of questions and memorising formulas. This helps to build a much more solid mathematical foundation which can be further built upon. It also allows for more abstraction of knowledge which can help with solving the more higher-level problems.
